JOB POSTING <br />POS(TfON T(TLE: HEAD MECHANIC <br />RESPONSlBLE TO: SERVICE DIRECTOR <br />DEPARTMENT: FLEET MAINTENANCE <br />RATE OF PAY: $22.72 PER HOUR <br /> ($.60 per hour increase after six months) <br />CHARACTERISTIC DU71ES OF THE CLASSIFICATION: <br />Employees within this job classification are responsib(e for ali the duties reiated to the <br />efficienf funcfioning of the Fleet Maintenance Department. These responsibilities inciude <br />overseeing the repair and main'tenance of the vehicles and equipment for all city <br />depaftments. <br />• Employees within the job classification Head Mechanic are responsible for the <br />organization of all work assignments for the Fleet Maintenance Department. <br />• Employees within the job ciassification Head Mechanic shall be responsible for <br />reviewing the Mechanics daily work orders, <br />• Employees within the job classification Head Mechanic musf have a thorough <br />,knowledge of alf vehicles and equipment and be able to guide Lead Mechanics, <br />Mechanics, and Mechanic Helpers in the proper repair procedure. <br />• Empfoyees within the job classification Head Mechanic shall be responsible for <br />making all shop decisions. <br />• Emptoyees within the job classification Head Mechanic shall repair, service, overhau( <br />and maintain gaso(ine and diesei equipment, including but not limited to: <br />automobiles, trucks with a GVW of more than 26,000 pounds, trucks with a GVW of <br />less than 26,000 pounds, bulidozers, tractors, backhoes, front-end loaders, and other <br />types of on road and off road equipment. <br />• Employees within the job ciassification Head Mechanic shall be required to maintain <br />a valid commercial driver's license at aU times. <br />• Employees within the job classification Head Mechanic shali perform other duties as <br />assigned, within the general character and scope of the duties described above. <br />• Employees within the job classification Nead Mechanic cannot discipline employees. <br />ANY EMPLOYEE MAY APPLY FOR THE ABOVE JOB POSTING BY FlLING A <br />WRITTEN APPLICATION WITH THE DIRECTOR OF PERSONNEL AND <br />ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES ON OR BEFORE THE LAST DAY OF THE P05TING <br />PERIOD. <br />APPLICATIONS MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE OFFICE OF PERSONNEL AND <br />ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES. <br />TNE CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES AND ALCOHOL TESTING POLICY PROVISIONS <br />APPLY TO THIS POSITION. <br />THIS JOB POSTING NOTICE; Posting Date: (Time: `?7 ???G'c • ?'? <br />Close Date: - ,• ilTime: ?-) '.
