??. <br />?., <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2002-27 <br />BY: MAYOR NORM MUSIAL <br />AN ORDINANCEADO.PTING NEWAND REVISED CIIAPTER <br />1309 OF THE CITY BUILDING CODE, EIVTITLED <br />"NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE," FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />INCORPORATING THE NEW 2002 EDITION OF THE <br />NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council previously adopted the provisions of the 1999 National Electrical <br />Code and incorporated same into Chapter 1309 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North <br />Olmsted (Ord. No.1999-01); and <br />WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the Building Commissioner, with the concurrence <br />of the Director of Law, this Council is hereby advised of and asked to adopt the new 2002 edition <br />of the National Electrical Code; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the intent and desire of this Council to adopt the 2002 edition of the <br />National Electrical Code, including all current or recent amendments thereto, and with certain <br />exceptions therefrom and to insure that the provisions of NOCO Chapter 1309 adequately reflect <br />current safety standards; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: Tha.t there hereby be and is created new and revised Chapter 1309 of the City <br />Building Code, entitted "National Electrical Code," as published by the National Fire Prevention <br />Association, specifically the 2002 edition, with the exception of Article 80 thereof, a copy of which <br />is attached hereto as ExWbit A and incorporated herein by referenced as if fully revvritten hereto. The <br />changes in the new Code are identified by the italicized language and the deletions are identified by <br />interlineation. <br />SECTION 2: That any Ordinance, or part of Ordinance, including, but not limited to <br />Ordinance No. 99-1, which is inconsistent or in conflict with this Ordinance, be, ta the eatent of <br />any such inconsistency or conflict, repealed. <br />
