<br />a4' <br />e y <br />EXHIBIT A <br />CONTRACTING AGENCY AGREEMENT <br />This agreement is entered into on the day of 2002, at Medina, Ohio, by <br />and between the Board of Commissianers of Medina County, Ohio, whose address is 144 N. Broadway, <br />Medina, Ohio hereinafter referred to as "The County" and "The City of North Olmsted c/o North Olmsted <br />Police Department" whose address is 27243 Lorain Road, N. Olmsted, Ohio 44070, hereinafter referred <br />to as "The Contracting Agency." <br />WHEREAS, the County owns and operates a facility located at 555 Independence Drive, Medina, <br />Ohio (herein referred to as the "county jail facility") to house persons who by law have either been <br />sentenced to imprisonment in a county jail ar in a misdemeanant facility, for the violation of either a <br />misdemeanor or felony offense, or who are otherwise subject to imprisonment in a county jail or <br />misdemeanant facility. <br />WHEREAS, the Contracting Agency is in need of space to house its prisoners and wishes to <br />enter into an agreement with the County, in accordance with Ohio Revised Code Sectian 307.15 and/or <br />341.34, or to clarify the arrangement for accepting prisoners from other counties pursuant to Ohio <br />Revised Code Sections 341.12 et seq. with regard to the use of the county jail facility. <br />NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the foregoing and of the mutual pramises contained <br />hereinafter, the County and the Contracting Agency agree as follows: <br />1. The County will maintain, staff, operate, and administer the county jail facility. <br />2. The County Sheriff shall receive, and accept for housing and incarceration purposes, on a <br />space available basis, prisoners delivered to it from Contracting Agency who are subject to <br />imprisonment in a full service county jail or a county misdemeanant facility. The County has <br />the right to refuse any prisaner deemed medically, psychiatrically or psychologically <br />inappropriate for the County's facility. <br />1
