CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2042-31 BY: MAYOR NORM MUSIAL AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING NEWAND REIII,SED CHAPTER 1301 OF THE CITY BUILDING CODE ENTITLED "OHIO BUILDING CODE" FOR THE PURPOSE OF INCORPORATING AMENDMENTS SET FORTHIN THE 2002 AMENDMENTS OF SAID STATE Z,A WAND TO M4I7VTAl1V THE CERTIFICATION OF THE BUILDING DEPAR7II1ENT TO ENFORCE THE OHIO BUILDING CODE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY., WHEREAS, this Council has previously adopted the provisions of the 1998 Ohio Basic Building Code and incorporated same into Chapter 1301 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted; and WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the Building Commissioner, with the concurrence of the Director of Law, this Council is hereby advised of and asked to adopt and incorporate the 2002 amendments to the Ohio State Building Code; and WHEREAS, it is also the intent and desire of this Council, by this adoption of the Ohio Building Code, to mairnain the certification and authority of the North Olmsted Building Department, by and through the Ohio Board ofBuilding Standards, pursuant to Revised Code Chapter 3781, to enforce uniform standards and safety requirements for the erection, construction, repair, alteration and maintenance of buildings within the City of North Olmsted; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That there hereby be and is created a new and revised Chapter 1301 of the City Building Code, entitled "Ohia Building Code," the provisions of which shall be identical to and as set forth in the Ohio Building Code, as adopted by the Ohio Board of Building Standards, Department of Industrial Relations, pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Chapter 3781 and as administratively promulgated in and set farth in Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 4101:2, specifically the 2002 amendments thereof, which new and revised Chapter 1301 is attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 2: That any Ordinance, or part of Ordinance, which is inconsistent or in conflict with this Ordinance, be, to the extent of any such inconsistency or conflict, repealed. I
