..?,. m.e?.r:ezw...s'? . ??$?''Nk ... . ..!?-,tn„?....? . ......... . .. . <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002-33 <br />BY: The Mayor and Entire Council <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE PUBLIC SERVICE OF <br />THOMAS DEMALINE, FLEET MANAGER FOR THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED SERVICE DEPARTMENT <br />WHEREAS, Thomas Demaline has been a dedicated emplayee of the City of North Olmsted <br />serving in several positions in the Department of Public Service for a total of Thircy-four (34) years; and <br />WHEREAS, the ancestors of the Demaline famity have lived in the City of North Olmsted for <br />over one hundred (100) years and Thomas Demaline, together with his wife Linda, married in 1970, have <br />reared two sons, David and Jody, in the City of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, Thomas Demaline first worked as summer help in the Service Department in 1966 <br />and 1967, and in the fall of 1967, he started in the service garage as a mechanics' helper; and <br />WHEREAS, Thomas Demaline made significant contributions to the City of North Olmsted, <br />including the implementation of a program to service and repair Police and Fire Department equipment, by <br />establishing safety procedures and recommending safer equipment to transport senior citizens in the tri- <br />county area and by instituting a preventative maintenance program for a11 City vehicles; and <br />WHEREAS, Thomas Demaline, after demonstrating his abilities as a mechanic, became a full- <br />time mechanic in January, 1968 and later acquired the title of Lead Mechanic and, in further <br />acknowledgement of his talents, was promoted to the position of Garage Foreman in 1986; and <br />WHEREAS, Thomas Demaline has received numerous Letters of Commendation for his service <br />to the citizens of North Olmsted and is also credited by various Departments of the City for keeping <br />excellent inventory counts and insisting upon the highest standards for vehicle maintenance; and <br />WHEREAS, in recognition of tus skill and leadership, Thomas Demaline was again promoted in <br />1995 to become the Fleet Manager and now, having served under Five (5) administrations, is retiring in the <br />year 2002, after faithfiilly serving as an employee for Thirty-four (34) years; and <br />WHEREAS, Tom's knowledge of inechanics was an invaluable asset to the City of North <br />Olmsted and he will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of working with him. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THI; CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1- That the Council of the City of North Oltnsted, both personally and collectively, and <br />on behalf of the Mayor and members of the Administration, and all the residents of the City, hereby honors <br />the public service of Thomas Demaline and extends its debt of gratitude to him for his Thirty-four (34) <br />years of public service to the City of North Olmsted, Department of Public Service. <br />Section 2-'That this Resotution be spread in full upon the records of this Council and that the <br />Clerk of Council is hereby directed to forward a duly authenticated and executed copy of this Resolution to <br />Thomas Demaline. <br />Sect_ i?
