<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTTON NO. 2002 - 36 <br />By: Mayor and all Members of Council <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO <br />ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A TRAFFIC SIGNAL <br />SYSTEM AT THE INTERSECTION OF DOVER CENTER ROAD AND <br />DRISCOLL LANE/COTTONWOOD TRAIL IN THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO CONTRACT FOR THE SAME, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of North Olmsted is desirous of installation of a traffic <br />signal system at the intersection of Dover Center Road and Driscoll Lane/Cottonwood Trail in the City, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary specifications, as prepared under the direction of the Engineering <br />Department of the City of North Olmsted are on file, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement to <br />make said improvement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for <br />the installation of a traffic signal system at the intersection of Dover Center Road and Driscoll Lane/ <br />Cottonwood Trail in the City of North Olmsted as detailed in the specifications now on file in his office <br />and that, upon approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a contract <br />and execute same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary <br />for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that this legislation <br />go into effect immediately because of safety concerns for children crossing Dover Center Road near that <br />iirtersection, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Cnuncil, <br />it shall talce effe?ct and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: <br />A?ST: <br />, <br />L.
