CiTY OF NQRTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 200245 <br />BY: Mayor Musial <br />AN ORDIIYANCE TEMFORARILYAMENDING THE TRAFFIC <br />CONTROL FILE OF THE CT1"Y OF NORTH OLMSTED TO <br />INSTALL SIGNS ON CLAGUE ROAD, NORTH AND SOUTH, <br />AT THE INTERSEC?70N OF LORAIN ROAD, TO PROHIBlI <br />RiGHT TfTRNS ON RED ON SCH04L DAYS, FR0M 7" TO <br />430 PM, ONLY FOR THE DURATION OF THE <br />CONSTRUCTIDN PROJECT TO WIDEN SAID <br />INTERSECTIQN, AIYD DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, upon review, and after consultation with the City Engineer, this Council finds <br />that right tums on red on Clague Road, north and south, at the intersection of Lorain Road, cannot <br />be ma.de safely dwing school days and hows, throughout the construction project ta widen the <br />aforesaid inter$ection; and <br />WHERF.AS, ttus Council further betieves that suspending the authority penniiting such right <br />tums on red on schoot days and duzing schools hours wi11 facilitate the vrderly flow of traffic in the <br />City during those times and will enhance the safety of the construction zone; and <br />WHEREA.S', this Council has determined that it is in tiie hest irrterest of the safety, health and <br />welfare of the residetrts of and visitors to the City of North Olmsted to prohib'rt right turns vn red at <br />the intersection of Clague Road and Lorain Road, for traffic travelling north and south on Clague <br />Road, on school days, during the hours of 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for amendmerits to the City's Traffic <br />Cornrol File by ordinance of this Council; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL UF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAKOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted be and the same <br />hereby is temporarily amended to provide for the installation of two (2) uniform traffic control signs <br />with the words "No Turn on Red -School Days: 7 AM to 4:30 PM" to face north and southbound <br />trafftc on Clague Road, at the intersection of Lorain Road, and which prohibit traff'ic travelling either <br />northbound or southbound on Clague Road from making a rigtrt turn on red onto Lorain Road, and <br />so as to proln'bit such right tums on red only on School Days during the hours of 7 AM and 4:30 PM.
