CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2002 - 83 BY: MAYOR MUSIAL AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL FII.E OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO PROVIDE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF FOUR "NO TURN ON RED" SIGNS AT THE DOVER CENTER ROAD AND DRISCOLL LANE/ COTTONWOOD TRAIL SIGNALIZED INTERSECTION AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, Council and the Administration have determined that it is in the best interest of public safety to install four "No Turn on Red" signs at the Dover Center Road and Driscoll Lane/Cottonwood Trail signalized intersection as follows: 1. An R-23-24 sign for traffic traveling in an easterly direction on Cottonwood Trail and turning south on Dover Center Road; 2. An R-23-24 sign for traffic traveling in a westerly direction on Driscoll Lane and turning north onto Dover Center Road; 3. An R-23-24 sign with a supplementary legend, "7 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., School Days," for traffic traveling in a northerly direction on Dover Center Road and turning east onto Driscoll Lane; and 4. An R-23-24 sign with a supplementary legend, "7 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., School Days," for traffic traveling in a southerly direction on Dover Center Road and turning west onto Cottonwood Trail and declaring an emergency. WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council and Administration to amend the Traffic Control File to provide for the installation of said traffic control sign; and WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance of a Traffic Code for the maintenance of a Traffic Control file, which said file can be amended only by ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Police Department be and it is hereby authorized and directed to amend the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted to indicate therein the installation of "No Turn on Red" signs as aforesaid.
