Resolution 2008-165 <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he hereby is authorized <br />to solicit Statements of Qualifications ("SOQs") from professional engineering firms <br />qualified to serve as the City's Division of Engineering and to provide professional <br />engineering services to the Director of Public Service in accordance with the Request for <br />Qualifications ("RFQ") prepared by the Director of Public Service. A copy of the said <br />Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") is attached to this legislation as Exhibit A. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized, upon approval of <br />the Board of Control, to negotiate and enter into a personal services contract with the <br />professional engineering firm selected in the RFQ process. Said personal services <br />contract shall be in form and in substance consistent with the RFQ documents attached to <br />this legislation, and approved by the Mayor, the Director of Law, and the Board of <br />Control. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare and for the further reason that it is necessary that this legislation go into effect <br />immediately because the RFQ process must be initiated immediately in order that the <br />selection process be completed and a new contract entered into no later than by February <br />27, 2009 when the current contract expires, and further provided that it receives the <br />affirmative vote of at least two-thirds of the members of this Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: k?L'l(r, c"Csr' FirstReading. <br />Second Readii <br />Third Reading <br />Committee: <br />A TTEST: <br />, <br />E - ? r ?; x <br />BARBARA L.
