CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008 - 151 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE <br />DIVISION OF AGING TO APPLY FOR FEDERAL TITLE III PROGRAM <br />GRANT FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2009; FURTHER AUTHORIZING <br />THE MAYOR, IF THE APPLICATION IS GRANTED, TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT OR AGREEMENTS WITH THE WESTERN RESERVE AREA <br />OFFICE ON AGING TO ACCEPT SAID GRANT FUNDS; AND <br />DECLARING AN EMER GENCY. <br />WHEREAS, upon the initiative and recommendation of the Department of Community <br />Life Services, this Council has provided for the establishment of the City's Title III programs, to <br />wit: the Senior Community Services Program and the Family Caregivers Support Program, now <br />operated by the Division of Aging at the Multipurpose Senior Center, including support <br />personnel to manage and operate the program; and <br />WHEREAS, the existing Title III programs have enjoyed tremendous success at the <br />Senior Center; and <br />WHEREAS, the Title III grant application for fiscal year 2009 is a renewal and <br />continuation of existing programs funding from fiscal years 2005 through and including 2008; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City's financial participation in the current and continued Title III <br />programs has been and will be limited to in-kind contributions, such as facility usage, utilities, <br />staffing, NOCOP transportation, and office supplies; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to continue and sustain the Title III programs <br />operated by the Division of Aging for the benefit of senior citizens and to therefore authorize the <br />continuation of the programs, applications for additional funding, and execution of agreements as <br />required; <br />NO W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED B Y THE CO UNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby authorize the Administrator of the Division <br />of Aging to apply for fiscal year 2009 Title III Program Grants, pursuant to the Older Americans <br />Act of 1965 (42 USC Section 35), in order to continue, sustain and renew current programs <br />funding; and that further, upon an award of a said program grant or grants, the Mayor is <br />authorized to enter into an Agreement or Agreements with the Western Reserve Area OfficC on <br />Aging to accept such program grant or grants, on the terms and conditions offered, and in a form <br />approved by the Director of Law.
