CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008 -148 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MA YOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT WITH RICHARD L. BOWEN + ASSOCIATES <br />PROVIDING FOR THE LATTER TO ELECTRONICALLY SCAN <br />ALL PLANS AND DRAWINGS OF THE NORTH OLMSTED <br />ENGINEERING DIVISION, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the Administration desires to enter into a contract with Richard L. <br />Bowen + Associates, currently the city's selected outside Division of Engineering, <br />providing for the latter to electronically scan all plans and drawings of the North Olmsted <br />Engineering Division ; and <br />WHEREAS, the cost of the said project is less than Twenty-Five Thousand <br />TJollars ($25,000.00), to-wit: $20,889.00, and therefore need not be competitively bid; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to so authorize the Mayor to enter into the <br />proposed contract with Richard L. Bowen + Associates; <br />NO W THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED B Y THE CO UNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into a <br />contract, a copy of which is attached hereto and marked as Exhibit "A," with the Richard <br />L. Bowen + Associates to electronically scan all plans and drawings of the North <br />Olmsted Engineering Division. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare, and for the further reason that it is important for the administration to have this <br />service provided during the winter months when city employees can assist in cataloging <br />and organizing the subject city files, and further to make room available on the first floor <br />of City Hall during this period for Finance and Human Resources while their second floor <br />offices are being renovated, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- <br />thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its <br />passage and approval by the Mayor.
