CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2008 -146 <br />BY: Council Members Barker, Dailey Jones, Kearney, Mahoney and Orlowski <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND FIXING THE <br />COMPENSATION FOR THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED FOR THE TERM OF OFFICE COMMENCING <br />JANUARY 1, 2010 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2013 AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of North Olmsted, at Article IV, Section 6, <br />requires the Council to fix the compensation for all elected officials at least thirty (30) <br />days prior to the filing date of nominating petitions for terms beginning on the next <br />succeeding lst day of January; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to establish the compensation for all <br />elected officials in compliance with the Charter's requirements; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council recognizes that this City will be facing severe financial <br />hardship over the next several years which will require economic sacrifice on the part of <br />all City officials and employees; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council believes that this financial hardship facing the City will <br />be most effectively addressed if the City's elected officials-who are the leaders of the <br />City government, lead the way in making such economic sacrifices first; and <br /> <br />, <br /> , , <br /> <br /> ; <br />WHERAS, this Council accordinglv desires to nrovide a five percent decrease <br />(-5%) for the vear 2010 and thereafter zero percent increases (0%) for the vears <br />2011, 2012 and 2013 in the compensation of the Mavor for the four-vear term from <br />2010 to 2013; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the salary to be paid to the Mayor for the term commencing <br />January 1, 2010 and ending December 31, 2013, shall be as follows: <br />
