<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008 - 111 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE SER VICE DIRECTOR TO <br />PREPARE AND SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE <br />OHIO PUBLIC WORKS COMMISSION STATE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT <br />AND/OR LOCAL TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM(S) <br />REGARDING PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS TO DOVER CENTER ROAD, <br />AND TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS AS REQUIRED, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the State Capital Improvement Program and the Local Transportation <br />Improvement Program both provide financial assistance to political subdivisions for capital <br />improvements to public infrastructure; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted is planning to make capital improvements to <br />Dover Center Road; and <br />WHEREAS, the infrastructure improvement herein above described is considered to be a <br />priority need for the community and is a qualified project under OPWC programs. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: The Service Director is hereby authorized to apply to the OPWC for funds <br />as described above. <br />SECTION 2: The Mayor is further authorized to enter into any agreements as may be <br />necessary and appropriate for obtaining this financial assistance. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately due to the <br />application being due by September 26, 2008 and approved legislation is required with the <br />application; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval b} :he <br />Mayor.
