CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008 - 31 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A DONATION OF FIELD RESTORATION <br />SERVICES FROM THE NORTH OLMSTED HOT STOVE LEAGUE FOR <br />DIAMONDS 1 AND 2 AT NORTH OLMSTED CLAGUE PARK, AND <br />WAIVING FIELD PREP FEES AND PERMIT FEES FOR THE NORTH <br />OLMSTED HOT STOVE LEAGUE FOR THE YEAR 2008, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Hot Stove League proposes to expend substantial dollars <br />to restore the infield and outfield areas at North Olmsted Clague Park, including loosening the <br />existing soil in the infield, adding soil conditioner, moving soils, diverting standing water by <br />filling low spots, correcting elevation errors, double-slicing seed into the soil and applying <br />fertilizers to Diamonds 1 and 2; and <br />WHEREAS, based upon the favorable recommendation of the Director of Community <br />Life Services and the Parks and Recreation Commissioner, this Council desires to accept the said <br />donation of field restoration services from the North Olmsted Hot Stove League, and waive all <br />prep fees and permit fees for the North Olmsted Hot Stove League for the year 2008; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO. <br />SECTION 1: That the City of North Olmsted hereby accepts the donation of field <br />restaration services by the North Olmsted Hot Stove League for Diamonds 1 and 2 at North <br />Olmsted Clague Park as more fully described above and in the letter dated February 4, 2008 <br />from the North Olmsted Hot Stove League, entitled "Little Clague #1 and #2 Baseball Diamonds <br />Proposal," attached to this Resolution as Exhibit A, and further, in light of the said donation, <br />hereby waives all prep fees and permit fees for the North Olmsted Hot Stove League for the year <br />2008. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare, of this <br />City and for the further reason that this Ordinance is required to be immediately effective in order <br />that restoration of the fields at North Olmsted Clague Park may be completed prior to the <br />summer baseball season; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: ?a D?
