I Resolution No. 2008-42 <br />WHEREAS, the Health Care for All Ohioans Act will allow health care costs to be <br />controlled and predictable eliminating a major source of business uncertainty and a barrier to <br />planning; and <br />WHEREAS, the Health Care for All Ohioans Act will eliminate complaints by <br />employees over rising premiums, co-pays and conflicts with labor unions over benefit cuts as <br />well as eliminate the need for annual negotiations with insurance companies; <br />NO W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED B Y THE CO UNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Council of the City of North Olmsted express our support for the <br />Health Care for All Ohioans Act and encourage all Ohio residents to contact Ohio House and <br />Senate members to encourage their participation in the passage of the Health Care for All <br />Ohioans Act. <br />SECTION 2: That the Council of the City of North Olmsted encourage all Ohio <br />residents to sign petitions presented by SPAN Ohio, the Single Payer Action Network Ohio, so <br />that the Health Care for All Ohioans Act can be placed on an Ohio ballot for voters to act upon. <br />SECTION 3: That the Clerk of Council is hereby directed to forward a fully attested <br />copy of this Resolution to Governor Ted Strickland, President of the Senate Bill Harris with a <br />request to distribute said Resolution to meinbers of the Ohio Senate, Speaker of the House Jon <br />Husted with a reuest to distribute said Resolution to members of the Ohio House of <br />Representatives, 24t District Ohio Senator Robert Spada, and 16`" District Ohio Representative <br />Jennifer Brady. <br />SECTION 4: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force on and after the <br />earliest period provided for by law. <br />1 <br />PASSED: <br />ATTEST <br />7r1-(iA_?X-t,Dt <br />? , , <br />ARBARA L.
