<br />b <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008 - 45 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY LIFE <br />SERVICES TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CLEANING SERVICES AT <br />THE RECREATION CENTER AND FOR RESTROOMS ONLY AT NORTH <br />OLMSTED PARK AND BARTONBRADLEY PARK, FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAID <br />CLEANING SERVICES WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER, <br />SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY THE BOARD OF CONTROL, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City's cleaning services vendor for the Recreation Center and Parks <br />facilities recently elected to prematurely terminate its contract with the City; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly necessary for the City to contract for cleaning services at <br />the Recreation Center and Parks facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, bid specifications for cleaning services at the Recreation Center and for <br />restrooms only at the North Olmsted Park and Barton/Bradley Park have been prepared and are <br />now on file in the office of the Director of Community Life Services; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Community Life <br />Services to advertise for bids, and, to further authorize the Mayor, upon approval of the Board of <br />Control, to enter into a new contract for said cleaning services with the lowest and best bidder; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Community lLife Services be and he is hereby <br />authorized to advertise for bids for cleaning services at the Recreation Center and for restrooms <br />only at the North Olmsted Park and Barton/Bradley Park in accordance with the specifications <br />now on file in his office and that further, upon approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor is <br />hereby authorized to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder for said clear.:.ig <br />services. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that it is necessary for the legislation to immediately because of the early, <br />unexpected termination of the City's contract with the current vendor, and further provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be <br />in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
