D. Upon receipt of the notice, the parties shall enter into collective bargaining. <br />E. In the event the parties are unabie to reach an agreement, the impasse procedure <br />as set forth in Section 4117.14 O.R.C. shall prevail. <br />32.4 The parties shall continue in full force and effect all the terms and conditions of the <br />existing collective bargaining agreement for a period of sixty (60) days after the party gives <br />notice or until the expiration date of the collective bargaining agreement, whichever is later. <br />ARTICLE XXXIII <br />BEREAVEMENT LEAVE <br />33.1 In the event of death of immediate family other than the Employee's spouse or children, <br />the employee shall receive two (2) consecutive twenty-four (24) hour shifts off. <br />33.2 In the event of death of an Employee's spouse, children or stepchildren, the Employer <br />shall provide a total of ninety-six (96) hours of compassionate leave. <br />33.3 For the purpase of this Article, Immediate Family is defined to mean: <br />Parents of the employee; <br />Parents of the employee's spouse; <br />Brothers and Sisters of the employee; <br />Step Parents of the employee; <br />Spouse and Children of the employee; <br />Relatives living with the employee if the employee is acting as a parent and/or legal <br />guardian; and <br />Graridchildren of the employee. <br />33.4 Itl addition, employees may receive bereavement leave for the death of a grandparent of <br />the employee or the ernployee's spouse, brother-in-law, or sister-in-law for a total of one (1) <br />twenty-four (24) hour tour of duty. <br />33.5 Should an employee need additional time off as a result of the death of a spouse or <br />children, and he can provide a medical certificate by his physician clearly stating the need for <br />such additional time off in excess of the compassionate leave, such additionalleave may be <br />granted by the Fire Chief, and shall be deducted from the Employee's accumulated Sick Leave. <br />ARTICLE XXXIV DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY <br />34.1 POLICY <br />The Employer and the Association recognize that drug use by employees would be a <br />threat to the public welfare and the safety of department personnel. It is the goal of this policy to <br />eliminate or absolve illegal drug usage through education and rehabilitation of the affected <br />personnel.
