<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008 - 63 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO <br />ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT TO PROVIDE NEW <br />PAVEMENT MARKINGS TO VARIOUS STREETS AT VARIOiIS LOCATIONS IN THE <br />CITY, AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE IN THE ENGINEERING <br />DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF <br />THE BOARD OF CONTROL, IF NECESSARY, TO CONTRACT FOR THE SAME WITH <br />THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, various streets at various locations throughout the City require new pavement markings <br />this year; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary specifications to competitively bid a street pavement markings contract this <br />year have been prepared by the Engineering Department and are on file in said Department; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to advertise for <br />bids for the award of a contract to provide new pavement markings to various streets at various locatioi;:: in the <br />City, as set forth in the said specifications, and to further authorize the Mayor, following approval by the Board <br />of Control, if necessary, to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids <br />for the award of a contract to provide new pavement markings to various streets at various locations in the City, <br />as detailed in the specifications now on file in the Engineering Department, and that further, the Mayor, <br />following approval by the Board of Control, if necessary, is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of <br />the City with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately <br />necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further for the reason that it is <br />necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately so that the subject streets can receive new pavement <br />markings as soon as possible in order to protect and promote the safety of the motoring public, and further <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in <br />force immesiia?ly upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />? ?PASSED: First Reading: (c <br />Second Reading: ?
