CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008 - 64 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO <br />ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF 5,000 TONS OF STONE FOR <br />VARIOZIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT NEEDS THROUGHOUT THE CITYAS DETAILED <br />IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER TO PURCHASE <br />SAID STONE, AFTER BOARD OF CONTROL APPROVAL, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Service has advised this Council that it is necessary to purchase <br />5,000 tons of stone for various Service Department needs throughout the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary specifications for said stone, as prepared under the direction of the Service <br />Department of the City of North Olmsted, are on file in the Service Director's Office; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to advertise for <br />bids for 5,000 tons of stone for various Service Department needs throughout the City, and to further authorize <br />the Mayor to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder to purchase said stone, after Board of Control <br />approval; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids <br />far 5,000 tons of stone for various Service Department needs throughout the City in accordance with the <br />specifications now on file in the Service Director's Office, and further that, upon approval by the Board of <br />Control, the Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract and execute the same on behalf of the City of North <br />Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately <br />necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further for the reason that it is <br />necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately in order to purchase seasonal supplies, and further <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in <br />farce immodi?tely upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: First Reading: Second Reading: Lt-r-?._ <br />Third Reading: <br />Committee: <br />ATTES : - ? ? 1 L_ <br />B,fRBARA L.
