CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008 - 80 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION EXTENDING FOR AN ADDITIONAL ONE YEAR <br />PERIOD THE CITY'S CONTRACT WITH SILVERLODE CONSULTING <br />CORP. FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT CONSULTING SERVICES TO THE CITY, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the authorization of Ordinance No. 2006-202, the Director of <br />Planning conducted an RFP process designed to select an economic development consultant <br />for the City; and <br />WHEREAS, as a result of the RFP process conducted, the Board of Control awarded <br />a one-year contract to Silverlode Consulting Corp. on May 22, 2007, for the period June 11, <br />2007 through June 10, 2008; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Planning that the contract of <br />Silverlode Consulting Corp., based upon the quality of the work performed to date by <br />Silverlode Consulting Corp. and the number of ongoing economic development projects in the <br />City in which Silverlode is involved, be extended for an additional one-year period frorri June <br />11, 2008 to June 10, 2009, rather than attempt to procure the necessary consulting services <br />elsewhere and otherwise through the City's RFP/RFQ procedures; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council, acting upon the <br />recommendation of the Director of Planning, to dispense with the RFP/RFQ process and <br />authorize the Mayor to enter into an extension contract with Silverlode Consulting Corf?. for <br />an additional one-year period from June 11, 2008 through June 10, 2009; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE C17'Y OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into an extension <br />contract with Silverlode Consulting Corp., to provide economic development consulting <br />services to the City for an additional one-year period from June 11, 2008 to June 10, 2009. <br />Said extension contract shall be in the form of the contract attached to this legislation as <br />Exhibit A, with only such changes thereto as are not substantially adverse to the City and <br />which are approved by the Director of Law. The character of any such changes as not bein- <br />substantially adverse to the City shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the; <br />agreement by the Mayor and the approval of the agreement by the Director of Law.
