?,. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2000-172 <br />BY: MAYOR MUSIAL <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO <br />AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NORTH OLMSTED F.O.P., OHIO <br />LABOR COUNCIL, WHICH AGREEMENT IS THE COLLECTIVE <br />BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE <br />NORTH OLMSTED CORRECTION OFFICERS, AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the legislature of the State of Ohio has heretofore adopted legislation <br />calling for Collective Bargaining Agreements with public employees; and <br />WHEREAS, the Correction Officers through the North Olmsted F.O.P., Ohio <br />Labor Council, has been recognized as the exclusive bargaining agent for the Correction <br />Officers; and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration has bargained with the members of the North <br />Olmsted F.O.P., Ohio Labor Council, and concluded that bargaining with an agreement <br />which is satisfactory to the Administration; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into <br />the Collective Bargaining Agreement which has been negotiated by the Administration. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter <br />into the Collective Bargaining Agreement which was negotiated with the North Olmsted <br />F.O.P., Ohio Labor Council, a copy of which Agreement is attached hereto and made a <br />part hereof and marked, "Exhibit A." <br />Section 2: That the effective date of any and all wage and fringe benefits <br />specified in said Agreement shall be January 1, 2001 through December 31, 2003. <br />Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be and the same hereby is declared to be an <br />emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, <br />safety and welfare of this City and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary <br />to provide for continuity of services for the year 2001 and thereafter; wherefore, this <br />Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and immediately after its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor.
