18.3 It is the intent of the parties that this Agreement be interpreted as practicable as <br />possihle in accordance with Chapter 4117 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />ARTICLE 19 <br />PER DIEM FOR SCHOOLING <br />19.1 Members of the bargaining unit sha11 be reimbursed, not to exceed twenty-seven <br />dollars ($27.00) per day as per diem expenses for meals while in attendance at Police Training <br />Schools outside bf Cuyahoga County requiring an "bvernight" away from Cuyahoga County. For <br />schools outside of the City of North Olmsted not requiring an "overnight" away from the city, the <br />reimbursement shall not exceed seven dollars ($7.00) per day. All meal expenses shall require <br />receipts to obtain reimbursement. Reimbursement will not be made for alcoholic beverages or <br />tips. For Police Trai.ning Schools where meals are provided, no per diem will be provided. <br />When an employee in the subject barga:ining unit is assigned to an educational assignment <br />requiring an "overnight" away from Cuyahoga County any travel time on one of the concerned <br />da.ys beyond his/her eight hour shift caused by travel will be paid to a maximum of iwo hours at <br />one and one-half (1'/2) times his/her regular rate of pay. <br />In no event sha11 the provisions of this paragraph apply to or inure to the benefit of a <br />member of the bargaining unit who is enrolled in a course of study leading to Basic Police <br />Training Certification. <br /> <br />31 <br />
