CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2000-146 BY: Mayor Norman Musial and Councilman Thomas O'Grady AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL FILE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED BY PROVIDING FOR THE INSTALLATION OF TWO "NO PARKING, STOPPING OR STANDING" SIGNS, ONE SIGN TO BE AFFIXED TO THE TELEPHONE POLE AT 26821 SWEETBRIAR DRIVE WITH AN ARROW POINTING WEST AND ONE SIGN TO BE ERECTED IN THE RIGHT-OF-WAY AT 26893 SWEETBRIAR DRIVE WITH AN ARROW POINTING EAST AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Pine Elementary School crosswalk is located in the area between 26821 Sweetbriar Drive and 26893 Sweetbriar Drive, and WHEREAS, this Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the safety, health, and welfare of the Pine Elementary School students who cross in this area to erect a"No Parking, Stopping or Standing" sign with an arrow pointing West on the property line of 26821 Sweetbriar Drive and a"No Parking, Stopping or Standing" sign with an arrow pointing East on the property line of 26893 Sweetbriar Drive, and WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance of the Traffic Control File, which said file can be amended only by ordinance. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND THE STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Police Department be and the same is hereby authorized and directed to amend the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted to indicate thereon the installation of a"No Parking, Stopping or Standing" sign with an arrow pointing West on the property line of 26821 Sweetbriar Drive and a"No Parking, Stopping or Standing" sign with an arrow pointing East on the property line of 26893 Sweetbriar Drive. SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to cause said "No Parking, Stopping or Standing" signs to be installed in accordance with the provisions of this Ordinance. SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the additional reason that there is a safety concern for Pine Elementary School students crossing in this area of Sweetbriar Drive, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
