CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2000-146 <br />BY: Mayor Norman Musial and Councilman Thomas O'Grady <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL <br />FILE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED BY <br />PROVIDING FOR THE INSTALLATION OF TWO "NO <br />PARKING, STOPPING OR STANDING" SIGNS, ONE <br />SIGN TO BE AFFIXED TO THE TELEPHONE POLE AT <br />26821 SWEETBRIAR DRIVE WITH AN ARROW <br />POINTING WEST AND ONE SIGN TO BE ERECTED IN <br />THE RIGHT-OF-WAY AT 26893 SWEETBRIAR DRIVE <br />WITH AN ARROW POINTING EAST AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Pine Elementary School crosswalk is located in the area <br />between 26821 Sweetbriar Drive and 26893 Sweetbriar Drive, and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the <br />safety, health, and welfare of the Pine Elementary School students who cross in this <br />area to erect a"No Parking, Stopping or Standing" sign with an arrow pointing West on <br />the property line of 26821 Sweetbriar Drive and a"No Parking, Stopping or Standing" <br />sign with an arrow pointing East on the property line of 26893 Sweetbriar Drive, and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance of the <br />Traffic Control File, which said file can be amended only by ordinance. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND THE STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Police Department be and the same is hereby authorized and <br />directed to amend the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted to indicate thereon <br />the installation of a"No Parking, Stopping or Standing" sign with an arrow pointing West <br />on the property line of 26821 Sweetbriar Drive and a"No Parking, Stopping or Standing" <br />sign with an arrow pointing East on the property line of 26893 Sweetbriar Drive. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to cause said <br />"No Parking, Stopping or Standing" signs to be installed in accordance with the <br />provisions of this Ordinance. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and <br />for the additional reason that there is a safety concern for Pine Elementary School <br />students crossing in this area of Sweetbriar Drive, and further provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
