? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2000-144 <br />By: Mayor Musial <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE SENIOR WORKERS' ACTION <br />PROGRAM/SENIOR COMMUNITY SERVICE EMPLOYMENT <br />PROGRAM WITH THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ACTING AS <br />HOST AGENCY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this council has been advised by the Administration that there is a <br />need in the City of North Olmsted to provide a senior community service employment <br />program, and <br />WHEREAS, the City acting as a host for this program, the City can enter into an <br />Agreement with the Senior Workers Action Program, Inc. to provide opportunities for <br />placement into unsubsidized jobs for men and women over the age of 55 <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO. <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to <br />enter into an agreement on behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the Senior Workers <br />Action Program which is in substantial conformity with the Agreement which attached <br />hereto and made a part hereof and marked Exhibit A. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare of the <br />residents of the City of North Olmsted and for the further reason that it is immediately <br />necessary to implement the Senior Community Employment Program for the year July 1, <br />2000 to June 30, 2001, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds <br />of the members of Council it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage <br />and approval by the Mayor. <br />
