dwelling, or discriminate in the making or purchasing of loans or in providing other financial
<br />assistance secured by residential real estate because of ascribed status;
<br />(F) (1) Discriminate in the sale or rental, or to otherwise make unavailable or deny, a dwelling to
<br />any buyer or rental because of a handicap of:
<br />(a) that buyer or renter; or
<br />(b) a person residing in or intending to reside in that dwelling after it is sold, rented, or
<br />made available; or
<br />(c) any person associated with that buyer or renter.
<br />(2) Discriminate against any person in the terms, conditions, or privileges of sale or rental of
<br />a dwelling, or in the provision of services or facilities in connection with such dwelling, because
<br />of a handicap of
<br />(a) that person; or
<br />(b) a person residing in or intending to reside in that dwelling after it is sold, rented, or
<br />made available; or
<br />(c) any person associated with that person.
<br />(3) For purposes of this subsection, discrimination includes:
<br />(a) A refusal to permit, at the expense of a handicapped person, reasonable modifications
<br />of existing premises occupied or to be occupied by such person if such modifications may
<br />be necessary to afford such person full enjoyment of the premises, except that, in the case
<br />of a rental, no modification need be permitted unless the renter first agrees to restore the
<br />interior of the premises to the condition that existed before the modification, reasonable
<br />wear and tear excepted unless previously negotiated with the landlord;
<br />(b) A refusal to make reasonable accommodations in rules, policies, practices, or
<br />services, when such accommodations may be necessary to afford a handicapped person
<br />equal opportunity to use and enjoy a dwelling;
<br />(c) A failure to construct covered multi-family dwellings that do not provide for
<br />accessibility and usability for physically handicapped persons in compliance with
<br />applicable state or federal law, including 42 U.S.C. § 3604(fl(3)(C);
<br />(G) Refuse to consider without prejudice the combined income of both husband and wife for
<br />the purpose of extending mortgage credit to a married couple or either member thereof;
<br />(H) Print, publish, or circulate any statement or advertisement, cause a statement or
<br />advertisement to be printed, published, or circulated, or make any verbal statement or cause such
<br />a verbal statement to be made, in relation to the sale, transfer, assignment, rental, lease, sublease,
<br />or acquisition of any dwelling or the loan of money, whether or not secured by mortgage or
<br />otherwise, for the acquisition, construction, rehabilitation, repair, or maintenance of a dwelling
<br />which indicates any preference, limitation, specification, or discrimination based upon ascribed
<br />status;
<br />(I) Include in any transfer, rental, or lease of a dwelling any restrictive covenant, based on
<br />ascribed status, or honor or exercise, or attempt to honor or exercise, any such restrictive
