•? <br />.? <br />. ,, <br />; <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED - <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000-25 <br />BY: COUNCILMEMBER KASLER <br />A RESOL UTION URGING THE NORTH OLMSTED SCHOOL BOARD TO <br />TAKE ANYAND ALL ACTION NECESSARY TO SEEK AN ADJUSTMENT OF <br />THE NORTH OLMSTED SCHOOL DISTRICT'S BOUNDARIES SO AS TO <br />INCLUDE WITHIN THE DISTRICT THAT PORTION OF THE CINNAMON <br />WOODS DEVELOPMENT RECENTLYANNEXED TO THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, BUT STILL LOCATED WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE <br />OLMSTED FALLS SCHOOL DISTRICT, AND DEC'IIARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this City Council on February 17, 1998, adopted Resolution No. 98-13 <br />which accepted the annexation into the City of North Olmsted of approximately 18 acres of <br />land owned by Christ the King Community, Inc. and located north of Cook Road, in Olmsted <br />Township, Ohio; and <br />WHEREAS, sa.id territory is now developed and is a part of the Cinnamon Woods <br />Development in the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the residents of this portion of the Cinnamon Woods Development are <br />residents and property owners of the City of North Olmsted, but their properties are still <br />loca.ted within the Olmsted Falls School District; and <br />WHEREAS, said residents, by virtue of owning land located in both the City of North <br />Olmsted and in the Olmsted Falls School District, are suffering from onerous taxation and <br />need tax relief; and <br />WHEREAS, the properties of said residents of the City should, for numerous and <br />other valid reasons, be located within the North Olmsted School District; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 3311.06, the North Olmsted <br />School Board may seek to include the said territory within its School District boundaries by <br />negotiating in good faith with the Olmsted Fatls School Board and then petitioning the State <br />Board of Education for a transfer of the said territory into its District; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Council of the City of North Olmsted urges the North Olmsted <br />School Board Board to take any and all action necessary to seek an adjustment of the North <br />
