CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />Ordinance No. 2000 - 11 <br />BY: Mayor Musial <br />AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH A"SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT <br />PROGRAM" FUND OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted wishes to establish a fund for the purpose of <br />accounting for City funds to be reimbursed from federal and state grant money. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted will also direct all fines which result from <br />officers working under this program to be deposited into the General Fund. Wages and <br />benefit costs only of the participating officers are reimbursable under the grant, therefore <br />the fines will be used to help defray all other related expenses which are not covered <br />under the terms of the grant. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, <br />COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1: That there is hereby created a STEP (Selective Traffic Enforcement <br />Program) Fund within the Special Revenue Fund group for the purpose of accounting for <br />City funds expended for law enforcement targeting speeding and seatbelt violations and <br />thereby submitting such expenditures for reimbursement from federal funds through the <br />Governor's Office on Highway Safety. <br />Section 2: That the Director of Finance be and is hereby; directed to establish a <br />STEP Fund and to record grant receipts and expenditures consistent with this ordinance. <br />Section 3: That the Clerk of Council shall immediately forward an attested copy <br />of this ordinance to the Auditor of Cuyahoga County and the Auditor of the State of <br />Ohio.
