??,.. <br />.??.>.: <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000-8 <br />BY: MAYOR NORMAN MUSIAL <br />A RESOLUTIONEXPRESSING THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED'S <br />COMMITMENT TO PARTICIPATE AND COOPERATE IN THE TAKING OF <br />THE YEAR 2000 DECENNIAL CENSUS. <br />and <br />WHEREAS, in April, 2000, the U. S. Census Bureau will undertake its decennial census; <br />WHEREAS, this city administration and Council recognize the importance of the taking <br />of the census as it relates to federal and state legislative representation, as well as the fact that it <br />directly affects the allocation of federal, state, and local dollars for a multitude of county and <br />municipal programs and services; and <br />WHEREAS, the U. S. Census Bureau has solicited local participation and cooperation in <br />the taking of the Census 2000, recognizing that it can significantly enhance the effectiveness of <br />the census by bringing local mileage to the process; and <br />WHEREAS, to date, thirteen communities within Cuyahoga County, as weil as the <br />County Government itself, have formed a committee known as Complete Count Committees, <br />whose goal it is to accomplish a complete count for purposes of the taking of the U. S. Census; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this city administration and Council to take whatever steps <br />are necessary to cooperate with the Complete Count Committee, and the U. S. Census Bureau to <br />accomplish a complete count census for the City of North Olmsted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTIDN 1: That this city administration and Council establish on the record that it is <br />wholeheartedly in favor of supporting, by whatever means necessary, the taking of an accurate <br />count for the year 2000 census, and, at the same time, this Council wholeheartedly supports the <br />efforts of Cuyahoga County Planning Commission, as well as the Complete Count Committees <br />presentty established within the County. <br />
