.? e CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 99-168 By: MAYOR NORMAN MUSIAL AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE GREATER CLEVELAND REGIONAL TRANSIT AUTHORITY (GCRTA) AND THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED PROVIDING FOR A JOINT OPERATING AGREEMENT TO PROVIDE TRANSIT SERVICES IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID AGREEMENT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the GCRTA and the City of North Olmsted have, by agreement since 1975, cooperated in providing a transit service to a portion of Cuyahoga County; and WHEREAS, the existing operating agreement will expire December 31, 1999; and WHEREAS, the parties have negotiated a new operating agreement; and WHEREAS, GCRTA and the City of North Olmsted have reached what they believe to be a fair and equitable agreement extending the transit provider relationship until December 31, at eleven fifty-nine p.m. (11:59 p.m.), in the year 2004; and WHEREAS, this council, after having reviewed said agreement, is in agreement therewith and is desirous in having the mayor enter into a contract with GCRTA consistent with the terms expressed in said agreement which is attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A". NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO, TWO-THIRDS OF ALL MEMBERS CONCURRING: SECTION l: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority for purposes of providing transit services by the City of North Olmsted, all of which is consistent with the agreement which is attached and marked Exhibit "A"; and SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby determined to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety of the Citizens of the City of North Olmsted and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary
