.? <br />e <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 99-168 <br />By: MAYOR NORMAN MUSIAL <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE <br />MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />GREATER CLEVELAND REGIONAL TRANSIT AUTHORITY <br />(GCRTA) AND THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED PROVIDING <br />FOR A JOINT OPERATING AGREEMENT TO PROVIDE <br />TRANSIT SERVICES IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID <br />AGREEMENT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the GCRTA and the City of North Olmsted have, by agreement since 1975, <br />cooperated in providing a transit service to a portion of Cuyahoga County; and <br />WHEREAS, the existing operating agreement will expire December 31, 1999; and <br />WHEREAS, the parties have negotiated a new operating agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, GCRTA and the City of North Olmsted have reached what they believe to <br />be a fair and equitable agreement extending the transit provider relationship until December 31, <br />at eleven fifty-nine p.m. (11:59 p.m.), in the year 2004; and <br />WHEREAS, this council, after having reviewed said agreement, is in agreement therewith <br />and is desirous in having the mayor enter into a contract with GCRTA consistent with the terms <br />expressed in said agreement which is attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A". <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO, TWO-THIRDS OF <br />ALL MEMBERS CONCURRING: <br />SECTION l: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an <br />agreement with the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority for purposes of providing transit <br />services by the City of North Olmsted, all of which is consistent with the agreement which is <br />attached and marked Exhibit "A"; and <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby determined to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety of the <br />Citizens of the City of North Olmsted and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary <br />
