<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 99-165 <br />BY.• COUNCILMAN GAREAU <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 351, ENTITLED <br />"PARKING GENERALLY" OF THE CODIFIED <br />ORDINANCES, IN ORDER TO UPDATE REQUIREMENTS <br />OF HANDICAPPED PARKING SIGNAGE. <br />WHEREAS, the General Assembly has recently updated the state regulations regarding <br />the designation and labeling of parking spaces reserved for handicapped persons; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to bring the City's Ordinances into compliance with <br />current state requirements; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to ensure that City business owners are able to easily <br />comply with designation and labeling requirements; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CODNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 351.04, which currently reads as follows: <br />351.04 PARKING NEAR CURB; HANDICAPPED LOCATIONS ON PUBLIC AND <br />PRIVATE LOTS AND GARAGES. <br />(a) Every vehicle stopped or parked upon a roadway where there is an adjacent curb <br />shall be stopped or pazked with the curb side wheels of the vehicle parallel with and not more <br />than twelve inches from the curb, unless it is impossible to approach so close to the curb; in <br />such case the stop shall be as close to the curb as possible and only for the time necessary to <br />discharge and receive passengers or to load or unload merchandise. <br />(b) This subsection does not apply to streets or parts thereof where angle parking is <br />lawfully permitted. However, no angle parking shall be permitted on a State Route unless an <br />unoccupied roadway width of not less than twenty-five feet is available for free-moving traffic. <br />
