CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 99-141 <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND THE ENTIRE COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE ACHIEVEMENT BY <br />JOHN DAVID BIBBS <br />OF THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD IN BOY SCOUTING <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration recognize and reaffirm their dedication <br />to organized Scouting; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration further recognize that those <br />participating in Scouting, both the youth and their leaders, are an invaluable asset to the <br />community and the Nation, and that the ideals of Scouting, the Scout Oath and the Scout Law are <br />commitments that all citizens should strive for; and <br />WHEREAS, when one of our young citizens has been committed to Scouting to such an <br />extent that he earns the rank of Eagle Scout, it is truly a noteworthy accomplishment; and <br />WHEREAS, JOHN DAVID BIBBS, as a member of Boy Scout Troop 630 has served his <br />fellow Scouts as a Patrol Leader, Chaplain Aide, Den Chief, Quartermaster, Junior Assistant <br />Scoutmaster, has received the Arrow of Light Award and the Parvuli Dei, Ad Altari Dei and Pope <br />Pius XII Religious Awards, attended the 1997 National Jamboree and participated in numerous <br />weekend and summer camps as well as a week-long backpacking trip to Canada; and <br />WHEREAS, for his Eagle Scout Project, JOHN made curbside signs for the American <br />Red Cross Bloodmobiles; and <br />WHEREAS, JOHN, in achieving his Eagle Scout Award, earned twenty-one Merit <br />Badges; and <br />WHEREAS, while JOHN was undertaking all these Scouting projects, he also was a four- <br />year participant in his school's Marching Band, Pep Band and Concert Band and participated at <br />St. Brendan's Church as a server and was a youth member of the Catholic Committee on <br />Scouting (Great Western District); and <br />WHEREAS, JOHN is attending Cleveland State tlniversity where he is majoring in <br />psychology; and <br />WHEREAS, the reception of the Eagle Scout Award by JOHN DAVID BIBBS is a <br />noteworthy accomplishment deserving of the congratulations of the entire community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council and City Administration extend best wishes and heartiest <br />congratulations to JOHN DAVID BIBBS on his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council be, and she is hereby directed to transmit a copy <br />of this Resolution to JOHN DAVID BIBBS. <br />? <br />Passed: <br />A?es?\ <br />? <br />7 , <br />r Barbara L.
