? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 99-86 <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND TfiE ENTIRE COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE ACHIEVEMENT BY <br />EDWARD A. POOLE <br />OF THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD IN BOY SCOUTING <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration recognize and reaffirm their dedication <br />to organized Scouting; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration further recognize that those <br />participating in Scouting, both the youth and their leaders, are an invaluable asset to the <br />community and the Nation, and that the ideals of Scouting, the Scout Oath and the Scout Law are <br />commitments that all citizens should strive for; and <br />WHEREAS, when one of our young citizens has been committed to Scouting to such an <br />eatent that he earns the rank of Eagle Scout, it is truly a noteworthy accomplishment; and <br />WHEREAS, EDWARD A. POOLE, as a member of Boy Scout Troop 664 served his <br />fellow Scouts as Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior <br />Patrol Leader, Troop Guide, Junior Assistant Scoutmaster, Denner, Merit Badge Counselor and <br />C.I.T., was a member of the Beaumont Camp staff, earned the Arrow of Light Award, was a <br />member of the Den Chief Conference Training Staff and was an Honorary Council Member <br />during the 1997 North Olmsted All Scouts Weekend; and <br />WHEREAS, EDVVARD' S Eable Service Project was to refinish playground equipment for <br />the West Shore Child Care Center located at the West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church; and <br />WHEREAS, in achieving his Eagle Scout Award, EDWARD earned twenty-four Merit <br />Badges; and <br />WHEREAS, EDWARD is a graduate of Lakewood High School were he was a member <br />of the National Honor Society and a member and officer of the Astronomy Club; was a participant <br />in the American Youth Leadership Conference, the Student Rules, Rights and Responsibilities <br />Committee, the Principal's Student Advisory Council, the Vocational Work Ethic Group: Pepsi <br />"Say Yes to Work Challenge - Ohio" Project team member; was a Student Council <br />Representative; participated as a Varsity and Junior Varsity Scoreboard Technician, Girls & Boys <br />Freshman Basketball Ti«ler, Girls & Boys Varsity and Junior Varsity Basketball Athletic <br />Photographer and Boys Varsity and Junior Varsity (away) Basketball Statistician; and <br />WHEREAS, EDWARD plans on attending the University of Arkansas at Monticello <br />School of Forest Resources to major in Forest and Natural Resources; and <br />WHEREAS, the reception of the Eagle Scout Award by EDWARD POOLE is a <br />noteworthy accomplishment deserving of the congratulations of the entire community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED BY THE COUNCII.. OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNZ'Y OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: 1 hat this Council and City Administration extend best wishes and heartiest <br />congratulations to EDW ARD A. POOLF on his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council be, and she is hereby directed to transmit a copy <br />of this Res lution to EDWARD A.
