? CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 99-86 BY: THE MAYOR AND TfiE ENTIRE COUNCIL A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE ACHIEVEMENT BY EDWARD A. POOLE OF THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD IN BOY SCOUTING WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration recognize and reaffirm their dedication to organized Scouting; and WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration further recognize that those participating in Scouting, both the youth and their leaders, are an invaluable asset to the community and the Nation, and that the ideals of Scouting, the Scout Oath and the Scout Law are commitments that all citizens should strive for; and WHEREAS, when one of our young citizens has been committed to Scouting to such an eatent that he earns the rank of Eagle Scout, it is truly a noteworthy accomplishment; and WHEREAS, EDWARD A. POOLE, as a member of Boy Scout Troop 664 served his fellow Scouts as Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, Troop Guide, Junior Assistant Scoutmaster, Denner, Merit Badge Counselor and C.I.T., was a member of the Beaumont Camp staff, earned the Arrow of Light Award, was a member of the Den Chief Conference Training Staff and was an Honorary Council Member during the 1997 North Olmsted All Scouts Weekend; and WHEREAS, EDVVARD' S Eable Service Project was to refinish playground equipment for the West Shore Child Care Center located at the West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church; and WHEREAS, in achieving his Eagle Scout Award, EDWARD earned twenty-four Merit Badges; and WHEREAS, EDWARD is a graduate of Lakewood High School were he was a member of the National Honor Society and a member and officer of the Astronomy Club; was a participant in the American Youth Leadership Conference, the Student Rules, Rights and Responsibilities Committee, the Principal's Student Advisory Council, the Vocational Work Ethic Group: Pepsi "Say Yes to Work Challenge - Ohio" Project team member; was a Student Council Representative; participated as a Varsity and Junior Varsity Scoreboard Technician, Girls & Boys Freshman Basketball Ti«ler, Girls & Boys Varsity and Junior Varsity Basketball Athletic Photographer and Boys Varsity and Junior Varsity (away) Basketball Statistician; and WHEREAS, EDWARD plans on attending the University of Arkansas at Monticello School of Forest Resources to major in Forest and Natural Resources; and WHEREAS, the reception of the Eagle Scout Award by EDWARD POOLE is a noteworthy accomplishment deserving of the congratulations of the entire community. NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED BY THE COUNCII..
