.?=,.. <br />Ordinance No. 99-44 <br />Page 2 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That there is hereby created new Section 135.021 of Chapter 135 of the <br />North Olmsted Codified Ordinances, entitled "Department of Finance." Said Section 135.021, <br />as created herein, shall read in its entirety as follows: <br />"135.021 ASSISTANT DIRECTOR. <br />The Director of Finance shall be assisted by an Assistant Director of Finance, who shall <br />be a full time employee of the City. The Director of Finance shall appoint and remove the <br />Assistant Director of Finance. At the time of his or her appointment, the Assistant Director of <br />Finance must have a four year degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited college or <br />university. The Assistant Director of Finance shall assist the Director of Finance in the <br />performance of his or her duties, and shall be directed in the performance of those duties solely <br />by the Director of Finance. In the temporary absence of the Director of Finance, the Assistant <br />Director of Finance shall perform the duties of Director of Finance. The salazy of the Assistant <br />Director of Finance shall be set by the Director of Finance within a salary range established by <br />Council. " <br />SECTION 2: That the operation of any Ordinance, or part of any Ordinance in conflict <br />or inconsistent with any provision of this Ordinance is, to the extent of any such conflict or <br />inconsistency, repealed. <br />SECTION 3: That this legislation is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that it is immediately necessary to establish the position of Assistant Director of <br />Finance to provide the Director of Finance with the necessary human resources to enable her <br />to perform her Charter duties relating to the City's finances, and further provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of council, it shall ta,ke effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage by Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: L__ <br />A : <br />ARBARA L.
