?. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 99- 43 <br />BY: Councilman Dean McKav and Councilman George Nashar <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION TO IMPROVE INTERSTATE 480 FROM THE WEST <br />CORPORATION LINE TO THE EAST CORPORATION LINE BY CONSTRUCTING <br />NOISE BARRIERS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Interstate 480 is a principal limited access highway through the City of <br />North Olmsted, carrying approximately 100,000 vehicles per day, and <br />WHEREAS, this volume of automobiles and trucks causes a substantial nuisance <br />to adjacent resident because of the noise generated by this traffic. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE C'OUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND ST.ATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the City of North Olmsted hereby requests that the Ohio Department <br />of Transportation improve Interstate 480 from the west corporation line to the east corporation <br />line by constructing noise barriers under the supervision of the State of Ohio, Department of <br />Transportation. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that it is immediately necessary for the protecti.on of the adjacent residents, and <br />further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED 5 -? <br />AT ST: r <br />*'? ?? -y-•c? <br />Barbara L.
