CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 99-38 <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND THE ENTIRE COUNCIL <br />A RE50LUTION COMMENDING THE ACHIEVEMENT BY <br />JAMES ALBERT SVOBODA <br />OF THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD IN BOY SCOUTING <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration recognize and reaffirm their dedication <br />to organized Scouting; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration further recognize that those <br />participating in Scouting, both the youth and their leaders, are an invaluable asset to the <br />community and the Nation, and that the ideals of Scouting, the Scout Oath and the Scout Law are <br />commitments that all citizens should strive for; and <br />WHEREAS, when one of our young citizens has been committed to Scouting to such an <br />extent that he earns the rank of Eagle Scout, it is truly a noteworthy accomplishment; and <br />WHEREAS, JAMES ALBERT SVOBODA, as a member of Boy Scout Troop 630 has <br />served his fellow Scouts as a Librarian, Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol <br />Leader and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster, attended numerous weekend and summer camps as well <br />as a week-long backpacking trip to Canada, was the recipient of the World Conservation, Ad <br />Altari Dei and Pope Pius Awards and assembled craft projects for Senior Citizens Day Care <br />Center as his Eagle Scout Project; and <br />WHEREAS, JAMES ALBERT SVOBODA, in achieving his Eagle Scout Award earned <br />twenty-three Merit Badges; and <br />WHEREAS, while JAMES was undertaking all these Scouting projects, he also acted as a <br />Server for his church and participated in the church Youth Group and participated in numerous <br />school activities including Marching Band, Pep Band, Concert Band and the S.LT.E.S. program; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the reception of the Eagle Scout Award by JAMES ALBERT SVOBODA is <br />a noteworthy accomplishment deserving of the congratulations of the entire community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COLJNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council and City Administration extend best wishes and heartiest <br />congratulations to JAMES ALBERT SVOBODA on his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council be, and she is hereby directed to transmit a copy <br />of this Resplution to JAMES ALBERT SVOBODA. <br />Passed-Y?l?.irdc 4? /PI-1 % <br />Ar?t: <br />/J (? <br />", <br />` Barbara L.
