4 <br />CITY OF,NORTH OIMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 99-1 <br />BY.• Councilman Gareau <br />AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A NEW AND REVISED <br />CHAPTER 1309 OF THE BUILDING CODE OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, effective February 1, 1999, the National Electrical Code has been adopted <br />as modified; and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City of North Olmsted to change the current <br />Chapter 1309 of the Building Code to reflect the changes in the National Electrical Code which <br />go into effect on February 1, 1999. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHID: <br />SECTIDN 1: That there is hereby adopted a new and revised Chapter 1309 of the <br />Codified Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted entitled "National Electrical Code" which <br />new and revised Chapter 1309 is contained in Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto and made a <br />part hereof. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that it is immediately necessary to adopt the revised National Electrical Code <br />because of the changes incorporated in the 1999 law that go into effect on February 1, and <br />provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: <br />v <br />A7T. <br />BARBARA L.
