<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003 - 130 <br />BY: Council Member Paul Miller <br />A RESOL IITION CONFIRMING AND RECITING THE <br />LEGISLATIVE HISTORY OF THE NORTH OLMSTED CITY <br />COUNCIL'S ADOPTION OF THE CITYMASTER PLAN, AS <br />PUBLISHED IN 1992 AND APPROVED IN 1993, AND AS <br />FURTHER REVIEWED IN 1996 AND 2000, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, in conjunction with the City's application for Community <br />Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding, the Cuyahoga County Department of <br />Economic Development reviews and considers the status of the City's Master Plan as an <br />element of the grading and award procedure; and <br />WHEREAS, as a direct result of amendments to the Charter of the City of North <br />Olmsted adopted by the electors on November 6, 1990, Article VII, Section 2(b) of said <br />Charter required the North Olmsted Planning Commission to prepare a Master Plan for <br />the City by June 30, 1992, and further provided for City Council, by a majority vote, to <br />either approve and adopt the Master Plan, as submitted or with revisions recommended <br />by Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted entered into an Agreement with the <br />Cuyahoga County Planning Commission to provide professional consulting service to <br />and assist the North Olmsted Planning Commission with its Charter mandated Master <br />Plan project and thereafter commenced a comprehensive survey of parcels of land and <br />other issues, culminating with the publication of the Master Plan for the City of North <br />Olmsted, which was thereafter recommended for approval by the North Olmsted <br />Planning Commission in 1992; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council conducted its review of the Master Plan, as <br />submitted by the Planning Commission, and unanimously acted to approve and adopt the <br />Master Plan at its regular meeting of September 21, 1993; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted is proud of the fact that its Master Plan is <br />featured on the County Planning Commission's website, to serve as a model for other <br />cities and is readily accessible as a resource developers and citizens, as well as providing <br />necessary guidance for development issues before Planning Commission and Council <br />since its publication and adoption, including but not limited to the City's CDBG <br />application process; and <br />
