W, CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2003-124 BY: TIHE MAYOR AND THE ENTIRE CITY COUNCIL A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE ACHIEVEMENT BY SHAUN FRANKLIN KAMIS MOIZUK OF THE EAGLE 5COUT AWARD IN BOY SCOUTING WHEREAS, this Council and Administration recognize and reaffirm their dedication to organized Scouting; and WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration further recognize that those participating in Scouting, both the youth and their leaders, are an invaluable asset to the community and the Nation, and that the ideals of Scouting, the Scout Oath and the Scout Law are commitments that all citizens should strive for; and WHEREAS, when one of our young citizens has been committed to Scouting to such an extent that he earns the rank of Eagle Scout, it is truly a noteworthy accomplishtnent; and WHEREAS, SHAiJN FRANKLIN KAMIS MOIZiJK began his Scouting career when he was a first-grader by joining Cub Scout Pack 332 at St. Richard's School as a Tiger Cub; he earned the Arrow of Light Award, which is the highest award in Cub Scouting, and the religious award, Parvuli Dei; and WHEREAS, SHAUN at age 12 became a member of Boy Scout Troop 332 where he served in the leadership positions of Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Troop Guide, Instructor, Den Chief and Quartermaster; and WHEREAS, throughout his Scouting career, SHAiJN has been an active participant of Troop 332 and has attended monthly campouts, summer camp at Seven Ranges for six consecutive years and earned his Fifth Year Pipestone Award (Camp Honors); and WHEREAS, SHAUN, in achieving his Eagle Scout Award earned twenty-five Merit Badges; and WHEREAS, SHALIN'S Eagle Scout Project consisted of re-landscaping several buildings located at the Cleveland Metroparks' Historic Frostville Museum, which is located in North Olmsted; he and his 23 fellow Scouts and their parents spent nearly 100 hours completing this project, and SHAUN obtained donations from local businesses to fund the majority of the project; and WHEREAS, while undertalcing all these Scouting projects, SHAUN, a Junior at St. Edward's High School, ha.s been a member of the football team, the Engineering Robotics Team and is in the Pre-engineering program and plans to study Biomedical Engineering in college; he has earned college credits in robotic design from Cuyahoga Community College and placed in the top 10% in the nation on the NDET test; he eamed silver medals, two years in a row, on the National Latin Exam; he eamed Honor Roll status his first two years at St. Edward's High School; he studied Tae Kwon Do and is currently a second degree brown belt and has won several awards in weapon competition and was a squad leader on the competition tea.m and was on the mentoring team to help other students; WHEREAS, the reception of the Eagle Scout Award by SHAUN FRANKLIN KAMIS MOIZIJK is a noteworthy accomplishment deserving of the congratulations of the entire community. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That this Council and City Administration extend best wishes and heartiest congratulations to SHAUN FRANKLIN KAMIS MOIZITK on his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout.
