elft, <br />'%9W <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003-94 <br />A RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF THE <br />BIRTHDAY OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY. <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND ENTIRE CITY COUNCIL <br />WHEREAS, the United States Army was established by the Second Continental <br />Congress on June 14, 1775, and <br />WHEREAS, the United States Army remains the preeminent force in the world for the <br />protection and establishment of land power in defense of our national security interests and our <br />citizens' freedoms, and <br />WHEREAS, many citizens of North 0lmsted have served their nation in the United <br />States Army, sQme even making the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedoms, and <br />WHEREAS, it is proper to recognize the United States Army annually on its birthday, <br />and to thank those who are serving in its ranks and those who have served. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH 4LMSTED, CQUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Council of the City af North Olmsted, on behalf of the Mayor and <br />all the citizens of this city, express our gratitude to those who have served and those who are <br />serving in the United States Army by recognizing June 14, 2003 as the 228th birthday of the <br />United States Army and declaring the period 14 through 21 June, 2003 as United States Army <br />Week in the City of North Olmsted. <br />5ECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the <br />earliest period allowed by law. <br />PAS SED <br />arbara L.
