CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2003 - 42 By: Mayor Musial A RESOLUTIONAUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ADYERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE REALIGNMENT OF THE WATER MAIN ON NORTHERN AVENIIE, AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE IN THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROYAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, IF NECESSARY, TO CONTRACT FOR THE SAME WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Cleveland Water Department has recommended that a segment of the existing water main on Northern Avenue, which is located 2.5 feet from the foundation of the house at 5548 Porter Road, be relocated; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has accordingly advised that it is necessary to provide for a realignment of the water main on Northern Avenue; and N'HEREAS, the necessary specifications to competitively bid the water main realignment contract this year, have been prepared by the Engineering Department, and are on file in said Department; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to provide for the realignment of the water main on Northern Avenue, as set forth in the said specifications, and to further authorize the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, if necessary, to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to provide for the realignment of the water main on Northern Avenue, as detailed in the specifications now on file in the Engineering Department, and that further, the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, if necessary, is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City with the lowest and best bidder.
