<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003 - 37 <br />By: Mayor Musial <br />A RESOLUTIONAUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS <br />FOR CATCH BASIN, MANHOLE, SIDEWALK, CURBING AND <br />PAVEMENT REPAIRS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, <br />FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT <br />WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER FOR SAID REPAIRS, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Service has advised this Council that it is <br />necessary to perform repairs to catch basins, manholes, sidewalks, curbing and pavement at <br />various locations in the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary plans and specifications for said repairs, as prepared under the <br />direction of the Engineering Department of the City of North Olmsted, are on file in the <br />Engineering Department; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to advertise for bids <br />for catch basin, manhole, sidewalk, curbing and pavement repairs at various locations in the City, <br />and to further authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder to <br />perform said repairs; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY UF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for <br />catch basin, manhole, sidewalk, curbing and pavement repairs at various locations in the City of <br />Nvrth Olmsted, in accordance with the plans and specifications now on file in the Engineering <br />Department, and further that, upon approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor is authorized to <br />enter into a contract and execute the same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the lowest <br />and best bidder. <br />5ECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that this legislation must go into effect immediately so that injuries are not caused <br />to residents of the City because of unperformed repairs to public right-of-way areas, and further <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
