<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2003 - 34 <br />By: Councilman Paul Midler <br />A RESOLUTIUNSUPP'ORTING THE CUYAHOGA COUNTYMAYORS <br />AND MANAGERS ASSOCIATIDN'S STUDY OF THE FEASIBILITY <br />OF FORMING A REGIONAL WATER DEPARTMENT SIMILAR <br />TO THE NORTHEAST OHIO SEWER DISTRICT, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of this Council that the Cuyahoga <br />County Mayors and Managers Association has considered and may have commissioned a <br />feasibility study for the regionalization of water systems; and <br />WHEREAS, it has come to this Council's attention that the City of Olmsted Fatls <br />has supported such efforts by the Cuyahoga County Mayors and Managers Association; <br />and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IS RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO THAT.• <br />SECTIDN 1: This Council hereby supports the Cuyahoga CouYrty Mayors and <br />Managers Association's study of the feasibility of forming a Regional Water Department <br />sirnilar to the Northeast Ohio Sewer District. <br />SECTIDN 2: This Council hereby requests to the Mayor to report to the Intra- <br />Governmental Relations Committee, as the City's representative to the Cuyahoga County <br />Mayors and Managers Association, as to the status of its regional water supply study, if <br />any, and otherwise to recommend to the Association that such initiative be undertaken. <br />SECTION 3: The Clerk of Council be, and she hereby is, directed to forward a <br />certified copy of this Resolution to the Cuyahoga County Mayors and Managers <br />Association at the care of its Executive Director. <br />SECTION 4: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare, and for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect <br />immediately due to irnminent negotiations with the City of Cleveland Division of Water <br />and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passa.ge and approval by <br />the Mayor. <br />
