However, if <br />extenuating circumstances arise the Employee involved may request the Fire Chief or his designee <br />to approve such vacation out of sequence. In situations whereby the Fire Chief or his designee <br />approves or denies vacarion out of sequence, such action shall not be subject to the Grievance <br />Procedure. <br />Employees shall be permitted to cancel scheduled vacation time no later than sixty (60) hours <br />prior to the scheduled time. <br />In the event af a disaster (as detemuned by the Fire Chief or his designee) vacations may be <br />cancelled by the Fire Chief or his designee. <br />Upon retirement or death, an Employee or his estate shall be paid for all accrued vacation, at the <br />Basic Hourly Rate of Pay plus Longevity at the time of such retirement or death. <br />13.7 For Employees hired after January 1, 1996, years of service with another public sector employer <br />shall not be credited for years of service towards vacation time as an Employee of the City of <br />North Olmsted. <br />13.8 Employees shall be pernutted to request that earned vacation leave be accumulated in accordance <br />with the provisions in this Secrion. Employees shall be permitted to request that a portion of <br />vacation leave be accumulated or be paid at their Basic Hourly Rate of Pay plus Longevity. In no <br />23 <br />
