CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2003 - 22 BY: Council Members Gareau, Miller, Nasha.r, Dailey, McKay and Kasler. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 161.06 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, ENTITLED "VEHICLE MILEAGE ALLOWANCE" SO AS TO ESTABLISH A NEW CITY POLICY REGARDING THE USE OF CITY AND PRIVATE VEHICLES BY CITY EMPLOYEES FOR OFFICIAL CITY BUSINESS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, Section 161.01 of the City Administrative Code presently allows City employees to use their personal vehicles for official City business and to receive reimbursement for the same; and WHEREAS, the City Administrative Code presently has no provisions regulating the use of City vehicles by City officials and employees after scheduled working hours; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to provide for the use of City vehicles by City officials employees, including the taking home of such vehicles by officials and employees, and to further provide additional regulation regarding the use of private vehicles by City officials and employees for official City business; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That Section 161.06 of the Administrative Code of the City of North Olmsted, entitled "Vehicle Mileage Allowance," which presently reads as follows: "161.06 VEHICLE MILEAGLE ALLOWANCE. There is hereby established a transportation allowance for City employees using their personal motor vehicles for official City business and that the amount of reimbursement and the requirements to obtain reimbursement for the use of personal automobiles shall be as follows: (a) In order to be reimbursed for the use of personal motor vehicles on official City business, such use shall be authorized by the Mayor, in writing. (b) The reimbursement for the use of personal motor vehicles on official City business shall be at the rate of twenty-seven and five-tenths cents (27.5cents) per mile."
