<br /> <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2003 - 22 <br />BY: Council Members Gareau, Miller, Nasha.r, Dailey, McKay and Kasler. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 161.06 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE <br />CODE, ENTITLED "VEHICLE MILEAGE ALLOWANCE" SO AS TO ESTABLISH <br />A NEW CITY POLICY REGARDING THE USE OF CITY AND PRIVATE <br />VEHICLES BY CITY EMPLOYEES FOR OFFICIAL CITY BUSINESS, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Section 161.01 of the City Administrative Code presently allows City <br />employees to use their personal vehicles for official City business and to receive reimbursement <br />for the same; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Administrative Code presently has no provisions regulating the use <br />of City vehicles by City officials and employees after scheduled working hours; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to provide for the use of City vehicles by City <br />officials employees, including the taking home of such vehicles by officials and employees, and <br />to further provide additional regulation regarding the use of private vehicles by City officials and <br />employees for official City business; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 161.06 of the Administrative Code of the City of North <br />Olmsted, entitled "Vehicle Mileage Allowance," which presently reads as follows: <br />"161.06 VEHICLE MILEAGLE ALLOWANCE. <br />There is hereby established a transportation allowance for City employees using their <br />personal motor vehicles for official City business and that the amount of reimbursement <br />and the requirements to obtain reimbursement for the use of personal automobiles shall <br />be as follows: <br />(a) In order to be reimbursed for the use of personal motor vehicles on official City <br />business, such use shall be authorized by the Mayor, in writing. (b) The reimbursement <br />for the use of personal motor vehicles on official <br />City business shall be at the rate of twenty-seven and five-tenths cents <br />(27.5cents) per mile."
