<br />WEST SI30RE ElYF012CEMENT BUREAU <br />Bylaws <br />In accQrdance with Article IX of the Agreement for Establishment of the Westshore Council <br />of Governments, these bylaws are hereby adopted to govern the activities and procedures of the <br />Westshore Enforcement Bureau (hereinafter referred to as "Bureau.)" <br />I. PUR.POSE. The purpose of the Westshore Enforcement B ureau shall be to provide <br />organizational and cooperative efforts between law enforcement agancies of the municipal members <br />of the Westshore Council of Govemments; to qualify for grants made available by virtue of the <br />county, state or federal government; to serve as a forum for discussion and exchange of information <br />relating to law enforcement activities within the various municipalities; and to provide! for the <br />exchange of services, physical assistance, and mutual aid between members of the Council in any <br />manner deemed necessary and appropriate for effective law enforcernent. <br />H. REPRESENTATION. The Westshore Enforcement Bureau shall consist of the police <br />chiefs of the member municipalities, or their alternates specifically designated by them. A quorum <br />shall consist af a majority of the police chiefs eligible for membership, and each representative shall <br />be entitled to one vote. Action znay be taken by the affirmative vote of a majority of those present <br />and voting. <br />III. OFFICERS, The police chiefs of each municipality shall meet and elect officers who <br />shall serve for terms of one year each. Such officers shall consist of a chairman and a vice chairman. <br />N. MEETINGS. The Bureau shall meet monthly, and special meetings may be held <br />when requested by the Chairman or by any two members who make such requests in writing to the <br />Chairman.
