CITY OF NORTH OLMSTID ORDINANCE N0. 95- 151 BY: MAYOR ID BOYLE AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING 'IIiE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREMENT WITH OHIO COUNCIL 8 AND LOCAL #2681 OF 'II3E AMII2ICAN FIDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL IIyIPLOYEES, COVERING SERVICE AND WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANr IIMPLOYEES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHERRAS, the legislature of the State of Ohio has heretofore adopted legislation calling for Collective Bar;aining Agreements with public employees; and WHF,R.EAS, the Service Department and Wastewater Treatment Plant employees, through Ohio Council 8 and Local #2681 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Fmployees, has been recognized as the exclusive bargaining agent for the Service Department employees and the Wastewater Treatment Plant employees; and WHEREAS, the Administration has bargained with the members of the Service Department and Treatment Plant employees and concluded that bargaining with an agreement which is satisfactory to the administration; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into the Collective Bargaining Agreement which has been negotiated by the administration. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNI'Y OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: Section l: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into the Collective Bargaining Agreement which was negotiated with Ohio Council 8 and Local #2681 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal employees, a copy of which agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof and marked, "Exhibit A". Section 2: That the effective date of any and all wage and fringe benefits specified in said Agreement shall be July l, 1995 through June 30, 1998. Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be and the same hereby is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare of this City and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to provide for continuity of services for the year 1995 and thereafter; wherefore, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and immediately after its passage and approval by the Mayor.
