JOB CLASSIFICATION LABORER "A" <br />RESPONSIBLE TO DIVISION FOREMEN <br />CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES OF THE CLASSIFICATION: <br />Employees within this job classification shall be capable of operating multiple types <br />of vehicular equipment when assigned, including the following: <br />Gradall <br />Road Grader <br />Packer Trucks <br />Sanivac <br />Asphalt Spreader <br />Salt Spreader <br />Hy-lift Truck <br />Heavy Duty Snow Plows <br />Trucks with a GVW of 26,000 pounds or greater <br />Trucks with a GVW of less than 26,000 pounds <br />Trucks and trailer combinations <br />Large Roller Tractor <br />Street Sweeper <br />Various types of earth moving equipment such as but not limited to backhoe, <br />bulldozer and front end loader <br />• An employee within the job classification Laborer "A" , and assigned "sign <br />making" shall also have the ability to interpret the Ohio Manual of Uniform Traffic <br />Devices and maintain inventory control of sign materials <br />• Employees within the job classification Laborer "A" frequently will be assigned <br />by supervisor to supervise the work activities of a work crew as provided within <br />Article 36. <br />. While assigned to driving a truck, an employee in the job classification Laborer <br />"A" leads activities of the general laborers assigned to his truck and is responsible <br />for their activities. <br />• Employees in the job classification Laborer "A" shall onty require generalized <br />supervision with specific directions available as required. <br />• Employees within the job classification Laborer "A" is responsible for the vehicle, <br />equipment and tools assigned and shall be required to operate radio equipment. <br /> <br />52 <br />
