JOB CLASSIFICATION low %W RESPONSIBLE TO NATURE OF WORK: LABORER OPERATIONS FOREMAN This is manual labor in the performance of semi-skilled and limited skilied work of a physicaily demanding nature. Work invofves performing manual work of a semi-skilled nature, which requires speciaL previous training or experience. Although the work is usually performed under the immediate direction of an empioyee of a higher rank, and instructions are received at the beginning of each new job; constant supervision is not always available for routine and repetitive tasks which can be carried on without difficulty once they are learned. Automotive equipment may be operated. EXAMPLES OF WORK: ? Participates in the work of crews engaged in the operation and maintenance of the wastewater plant and related facilities; for example: repairs roofs, interior and exterior of plant buildings; paints buildings, trim, walls, and ceilings; replaces windows, doors, and locks; repairs and maintains plant building and grounds. • As required, keeps records of all work performed; reports need for materials and equipment on construction and repair jobs. • Assists operators with general duties including hosing of tanks, equipment, walks, drives, etc. Assist in cleaning duties as required by the nature of the operation of a wastewater treatment plant. • Assist the maintenance division when required with their assigned work. • Duty station with any of the three divisions of the Wastewater Department; namely: operational, maintenance, or system will be assigned by the Superintendent as required. • As required and assigned, wili operate automotive equipment; such as pick-up trucks, automobiles, dump trucks, dempsey dumpster, etc. \Nhen operating trucks greater than five (5) ton capacity, the empioyee shall be paid "A" Laborer rate. Work wili be characterized by the large variety of general duties of a semi- skilled nature which must be done in the Wastewater Division. 68
