CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 95-149 <br />BY: Mayor Ed Boyle <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR OF T'HE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH VALLEY <br />PHYSICIAN SERVICES, INC., TO PROVIDE BILLING AND COLLECTION <br />SERVICES FOR TBE NON-RESIDENT CHARGES FOR RENDERING <br />EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES AND AMBULANCE TRANSPORTATION BY <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor has recommended that the services of Valley Physicians <br />Services, Inc., be hired to accomplish the aforesaid services due to their expertise in tlus <br />field; and <br />WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the Mayor, this Council does hereby express <br />its desire to have the Mayor enter into a contract with said firm for and on behalf of the <br />City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE C1TY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OffiO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an <br />Agreement with Valley Physicians Services, Inc., to provide billing and collection services <br />for the collection of non-resident charges for Emergency Medical Services and ambulance <br />transportion by the City of North Olmsted. A copy of said Agreement is attached hereto <br />and made a part hereof and marked Exhibit "A". <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public healtk safety and welfare, and for <br />the further reason that it is immediately necessary to proceed with the billing and <br />collection services for non-resident Emergency Medical Service charges, and further <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
