CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 95-105 By: Mayor Edward Boyle & Councilman Limpert A RESOLUT70N AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR A COMPUTER AIDED DISPATCH (C.A.D.) PROGRAM AND ALL NECESSARY AND RELATED EQUIPMENT, INSTALLATION AND SERVICE TO BE UTILIZED BY BOTH THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS THRDUGH EMERGENCY CENTRAL DISPATCH, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO CONTRACT FOR THE SAME AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, evolving technology has made available computer based dispatch services that provide for the most efficient response time to those in need of emergency services; and WHEREAS, the present dispatch system being utilized by North Olmsted Emergency Central Dispatch can be improved to provide for greater efficiency in the dispatch of police and fire services; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Administration and of Council to provide state of the art equipment to Emergency Central Dispatch. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Safety be and hereby is authorized to advertise for bids for a Computer Aided Dispatch (C.A.D.) system in accordance with specifications now on file in her office and that upon approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor be and hereby is authorized to enter into and execute the same on Behalf of the City of North Olmsted. SECTION 2: That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to support North Olmsted's Emergency Central Dispatch and, provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
