? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 95-105 <br />By: Mayor Edward Boyle & Councilman Limpert <br />A RESOLUT70N AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC <br />SAFETY TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR A COMPUTER <br />AIDED DISPATCH (C.A.D.) PROGRAM AND ALL <br />NECESSARY AND RELATED EQUIPMENT, INSTALLATION <br />AND SERVICE TO BE UTILIZED BY BOTH THE POLICE <br />AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS THRDUGH EMERGENCY <br />CENTRAL DISPATCH, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />CONTRACT FOR THE SAME AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, evolving technology has made available computer based dispatch services <br />that provide for the most efficient response time to those in need of emergency services; and <br />WHEREAS, the present dispatch system being utilized by North Olmsted Emergency <br />Central Dispatch can be improved to provide for greater efficiency in the dispatch of police and <br />fire services; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Administration and of Council to provide state of the <br />art equipment to Emergency Central Dispatch. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Safety be and hereby is authorized to advertise <br />for bids for a Computer Aided Dispatch (C.A.D.) system in accordance with specifications now <br />on file in her office and that upon approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor be and hereby is <br />authorized to enter into and execute the same on Behalf of the City of North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 2: That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that it is immediately necessary to support North Olmsted's Emergency Central <br />Dispatch and, provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br />
